A clinical immunologist in Australia is a medical
specialist (physician) who has trained in internal medicine, then
studied the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses of the immune
system. For example:
- Allergic disorders including food
allergy, inhalant allergy, venom allergy, atopic
eczema, and allergic component of asthma.
- Investigation and treatment of
autoimmune disorders, for example SLE, Sjogren's
syndrome, scleroderma, and vasculitis.
- Investigation and treatment of
congenital and acquired immunodeficiency disorders,
including HIV/AIDS.

pathologists, academics, or researchers.
